1)     Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Radiogenic Isotope Geochemistry – Penn State University

The Department of Geosciences at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Radiogenic Isotope Geochemistry, broadly defined. The successful candidate’s research will take advantage of recent technological improvements in analytical precision and spatial resolution that can be applied to the study of the coupled evolution of the lithosphere, climate, biosphere in deep time, crustal growth, provenance of sediments, orogenesis, plutonism, and volcanic processes. The successful candidate will have immediate access to new TIMS and electron microprobe as well as existing LA-ICP-MS and MC-ICP-MS and future intercollege AMS facilities. (S)he will join a dynamic and collaborative geosciences community that includes new hires in hydrogeology, surface processes, and cyber-enabled geoscience.

Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Geosciences or related field, a record of significant and innovative research in geochemistry documented by peer-reviewed publications, and a clearly defined research agenda commensurate with academic rank. It is anticipated that the appointment will be at the assistant professor level, but higher-rank appointments may be considered in exceptional circumstances.

To apply, e-mail the following materials as email attachments to Ms. Stacie Hugney at slg9@psu.edu: 1) a cover letter, 2) a curriculum vitae, 3) research and teaching statements, and 4) the names, positions, and contact information of three references.
